Most of what I publish is practical. I am usually interested in the parts that become difficult in real environments: decision-making, trade-offs, reliability, ownership, execution, and the friction that appears when systems meet teams, deadlines, and imperfect information.
The site is organized through categories and series.
If you are here for the core of the blog, start with Leadership, Engineering, and Career. If you want a narrower path through a topic, start with series such as New Manager Guide, Running Engineering Teams, Software Judgment, Production and Reliability, or Personal Systems.
From time to time, I also publish shorter notes on food, films, travel, books, or whatever else I happen to be thinking through. Those live here too, but they are not the center of the site.
